PHASE III - FACILITIES FOR ELECTRICITY PRODUCTION

Phase III -energetics consists of the construction of six hydropower plants: three hydropower plants along the river Zletovica (HPP Zletovo 1, HPP Zletovo 2 and HPP Zletovo 3) one hydroelectric plant at the biological minimum of the Knezevo-HPP B dam and two hydroelectric power plants water supply pipelines for the municipalities Probishtip and Kratovo, including HPP Probishtip and HPP Kratovo with the following characteristics:

TECHNICAL FEATURES OF THE HYDRO POWER PLANTS

HPP B will process the waters necessary for securing the biological minimum of the river of the Knezevo Dam by using Pelton type turbines located in another building near the exit structure of the Knezevo dam.

Zletovo 1 HPP will process the waters from Knezevo Reservoir and the waters from the intake structures on Emiricka River and Venecka River. The waters from Knezevo Reservoir will be transported by the pressure pipeline with a length of 5250 m. The pressure pipelines that begins from the intake structures on Emiricka River and Venecka River are integrated into common one. The common pipeline is included in the pressure pipeline coming from Knezevo Dam.

Zletovo 2 HPP is derivation type plant to process the waters from Zletovo 1 HPP together with the waters caught by the intake structure of Zletovo 2 HPP. The layout of Zletovo 2 HPP considers the following main structures: water intake structure, free-flow pipeline, fore bay, penstock and powerhouse. The headrace water way includes short free-flow pipeline D/S of the intake structure of Zletovo 2 HPP, long tunnel that passes into free-flow pipeline prior its discharging into forebay. D/S of the fore bay begins the steel penstock leading the water to the powerhouse of Zletovo 2 HPP.

Zletovo 3 HPP will process the waters from Zletovo 2 HPP together with the waters caught by the intake structure of Zletovo 3 HPP. On the pressure pipeline will be mounted a branch for deviation of the waters necessary for irrigation. When Zletovo 3 HPP does not work the waters necessary for irrigation will be delivered on the pressure pipeline.

Zletovo 3 HPP will be constructed on the right bank of Zletovska River. Zletovo 3 HPP will work according to the need of other water consumers: water supply with industrial water of Probishtip; irrigation of the higher agriculture lands (upper zone) of Probishtip Municipality and water supply of Shtip, Sveti Nikole, Lozovo and Karbinci.

Probishtip HPP is diversion type plant, considered to be constructed on the pipeline for water supply of Probishtip town.

Kratovo HPP is diversion type plant, considered to be constructed for water supply of Kratovo town, located near the Water Treatment Plant. Kratovo HPP is structure designated for energy production using the discharges necessary for potable and industrial water supply of Kratovo town.
